Volunteer to judge the 2026 Awards for Excellence

We are seeking judges for the 2026 AHCJ Awards for Excellence in Health Care Journalism, which honor outstanding health reporting across print, broadcast, and online media. Judges for the Awards for Excellence in Health Care Journalism do not need to be AHCJ members but must meet the criteria for Professional Membership OR be a retired journalist or journalism professor/educator. 

Serving as a judge does not prevent you from entering the contest, and the contest team carefully manages assignments to avoid conflicts of interest with judges’ news organizations.
