Professional Bio

Teresa Wilson knew that she wanted to be a firefighter-paramedic from the time she was 4 years old, after watching the 1970’s hit show Emergency! While working in various areas of healthcare, she spent time as a firefighter-EMT at a volunteer department in her hometown before joining the Army as a combat medical specialist. Following her military service, Teresa continued working in direct patient care before earning a BS in journalism from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She was a lifestyle reporter for a daily newspaper and parlayed that into a weekly column when she moved out of state with her military husband. Teresa has been a freelance writer and has been involved in the Parkinson’s disease and hospice communities. Most recently she has contributed to writing and editing projects in the patient and market access sphere. Current independent writing projects include issues related to PTSD as well as normalizing the conversation about death and dying.
