I've devoted my career to covering health care in all its facets -- policy and science, medical research and practice, politics and human interest. I worked as a health care reporter at the Boston Globe for 10 years and left in 2024 to pursue freelancing and teaching. Since then I've written complex and nuanced stories for KFF Health News, the Boston Globe Magazine, the American Journal of Nursing and the now-defunct Harvard Public Health Magazine.
