Ali Hickerson is an independent journalist and communicator whose work focuses on the psychological and societal dimensions of health, America's evolving relationship to work, caregiving, and grief. Over the past decade, she has worked across Melbourne, Australia, New York City, and now Chicago. As a journalist, Ali’s writing has appeared in Chicago Caregiving Magazine, MSN, Yahoo, AOL, Stacker Media, and trade publications, and she’s written for organizations such as United Way, Moms Clean Air Force, and Northwell Health. As a communications consultant, Ali has developed communications strategies, campaigns, and ghostwritten for institutions including the Yale School of Public Health, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and Get Us PPE.
Ali is also a recipient of the 2026 National Press Foundation's Covering Workplace Mental Health fellowship.
