Professional Bio

Andrea is the director of engagement for AHCJ and works to implement marketing and communications strategies focused on membership outreach, growth and retention. She describes herself as a communicator and public servant with diverse experience in public health, human rights, public policy and education.

Andrea is the former mayor pro tem and city councilwoman for the City of Columbia, Missouri, where she worked to broaden Columbia's nationally recognized workplace, fair-housing and civil-rights ordinances. She was inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, a global honor society for public affairs and administration, and received the Missourian Progress Award for work done in social justice. Andrea has a master's degree in public affairs with an emphasis in nonprofit leadership and public policy, as well as a bachelor's degree in English, both from the University of Missouri.
